Malusi is a director in a private family-owned Energy Investment Company he founded/formed in 2017 named Leemte Holdings (PTY) Ltd (Leemte). Prior to forming this company he worked at various levels in the public sector in South Africa.

Prior to forming Leemte, he had been the Chief of Staff in the Ministry of Energy, having assumed the role when he was 28 years old.

He has been involved in a number of policy formulation and implementation in the Energy Sector. These include but are not limited to the Independent Power Producer Renewable Programme, the Nuclear New Build Programme, Petroleum Policy (Gas) and other smaller infrastructure programmes of the department.

Leemte is invested in Vesquin Trading (PTY) LTD, which is the main trading vehicle of Vitol in South Africa as a shareholder with Malusi serving on the board as company representative.

In addition to the above, Malusi through Leemte continues to strategically position and balance the aspirations of the company.
